Role Description:. The EII Strategy Teams are responsible for driving business strategy and leading initiatives across regions and functions. The Strategy team member serves the important role of delivering strategic projects and initiatives. From scoping to implementation and tracking, the team member is a key point of contact for other parts of EII and Blackrock. The role requires the capability to work in agile, cross-functional teams and utilize analytical abilities to come up with creative solutions to business problems, presenting impactful solutions with tangible next steps for senior management.. Key Responsibilities. Work with strategy team leadership, senior management and business heads to shape strategic objectives and identify opportunities to meet these goals, working collaboratively with all stakeholder levels to create buy-in. Execute upon business strategy projects and initiatives through different phases:. Identify problem or issue, define approach and required analyses, create work-plan, allocate resources. Gather and synthesize information from a variety of sources (industry research, financial publications, and EII and broader BlackRock colleagues including field sales, marketing, etc.). Manage junior team members (provide guidance, structure analyses, review outputs. provide feedback). Synthesize findings and engage senior team members in problem solving and on potential issues. Create impactful reports/presentations to communicate with BlackRock and EII senior management on project progress, final outcomes and implementation plans. Formulate data-driven business intelligence and insights as well as competitor monitoring where required. Facilitate broader strategic planning across the EII business, via both global and region-specific lenses. Support other EII businesses and functions on ad-hoc requests, where appropriate. Development Value:. Exposure to broad array of regional and global business issues and senior leadership of EII and BlackRock. Potential development to broader business and leadership roles within EII and at BlackRock. Strong track record of people moving from Strategy positions into elevated roles within a business or the firm. Knowledge / Experience:. 7+ years of experience in asset management and/or consulting with a history of outstanding achievement. External top-tier strategy consultancy experience desired (at project manager level). Understanding of the asset management industry and general understanding of the ETF landscape. Experience or interest in tackling data-related finance issues, analytics and reporting (desirable).. Experience working and communicating with senior management, either internal or external clients. Knowledge of market data tools such as Reuters, Bloomberg, IDC, etc. (desirable).. Skills/Qualifications:. Problem solving: Ability to think logically and deconstruct a larger problem into sub-components, prioritize issues and allocate resources. Structured communication skills: Ability to communicate complex ideas top-down, ask targeted questions to arrive at solutions. Interpersonal skills: Ability to engage diverse set of stakeholders, understand their viewpoints, build long-term relationships, create a collaborative and inspirational environment within the team and develop team. Process management: Efficiently manage project processes, navigate trade-offs and effectively manage own and other's time. Translation: Ability to digest complex content and concepts and convert to straightforward deliverables. Advanced PowerPoint skills: Ability to quickly produce management-level quality presentations. Advanced Excel skills: Ability to produce robust Excel models (forecasting, sensitivity analysis, etc.). Top-tier undergraduate degree, with MBA and / or professional finance qualifications desirable. Competencies:.
