Job Summary: This role is for that of a highly autonomous and experienced professional with advanced computer and linguistic skills. Under minimal direction, plans his/her workload to complete projects with very tight deadlines.Principal Responsibilities:Serves as a Project Coordinator for Across (computer-aided translation software), coordinating all of the translators' projects, ranging from the company's software and training products to website localization to standard business document translation.Acts as an expert resource for Across, trains translators on its use, troubleshoots problems, and communicates effectively with technical support.Prepares documents for translation by proofreading, identifying potential problems, and cleaning up formatting and layout issues.Maintains the translation memory and terminology databases; encourages translators in their quality assurance efforts to help maintain quality translation memory.Answers linguistic questions regarding style, structure, and meaning for translation.Aids in implementing and maintaining company standards across all products and supporting materials.Performs proofreading and quality assurance tasks for English and other languages.Makes text changes, edits records, and enters translations in Logos (software text and logic database).Identifies opportunities for improvement, new technologies and production processes.Completes special projects as assigned.Exempt-level duties: Computer Exemption - consulting with users to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications, testing, documentation, analysis of computer systems or programs.Minimum Qualifications:A Bachelor's degree in linguistics, writing/editing, or equivalent.Excellent English language skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills.Expertise in grammar, syntax, and style.Knowledge of translation technologies, platforms, and CAT tools.Proficiency with common office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Working knowledge of DTP software packages (Quark, InDesign).Ability to communicate clearly with individuals from varied multicultural backgrounds.Good interpersonal, rapport-building, and negotiating skills.Excellent planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong commitment to quality.Ability to prioritize and deal with changing priorities.Mentality of a motivated, self-starting, mature person who can take initiative.Ability to find creative ways to solve problems and operate independently, with little guidance.Essential Job FunctionsSitting for long periods of timeAnalyzing and interpreting data for long periods of timeProblem-solvingConcentrating for long periods of timeAttendance during core business hoursOur CompanyPriority Dispatch Corp. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
