Contribute to growth in Navigant's Energy Practice through selling, managing, and delivering strategic advisory, business planning and performance improvement consulting services, with a primary focus on Investor Owned Utilities within the eastern region. This position is designed to support Navigant Consulting's Energy Practice primarily in the following areas:. + Expanding Navigant's Energy Practice's business in the Energy industry, including:. + Leading the pursuit and close of new consulting engagementsDevelop/expand long-term client relationships that will lead to repeat business. + Working with other senior consulting professionals across Navigant's Energy practice to cross-sell a broader range of Energy industry consulting services. + Improving business performance through benchmarking, process improvement, performance metrics, operating risk assessment, and implementation of continuous improvement principles for clients, including:. + Assessing and guiding the business process and organizational changes required to improve organizational effectiveness, build results-oriented business processes, develop and implement long and short-term strategies, and transition business models for clients. + Analyzing the financial implications of entering new businesses, and/or decisions significant to assets or business structure for clients. + Analyzing the financial implications of entering new businesses, and/or decisions significant to assets or business structure for clients. + Directing project assignments in business area, including development of team, outline of work plan, direction and coordination of technical contributions, and oversee budget and schedule.. + Contributing subject matter expertise on project assignments within the business unit or elsewhere within the organization. + Providing mentoring to junior level staff. + Providing expert witness/testimony services regarding utility practice and performance. + Managing all aspects of client relationships and engagement delivery. + Preparing and delivering reports, presentations and other documents for client deliverables. + Executive level energy business experience with a deep background in the energy utility industry, including market structure, asset management, regulation, and clean energy trends. + Preference for management consulting or business strategy. + Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills. + Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. + High degree of self-confidence and determination. + Highly developed organizational and management skills. + Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities without diminished effectiveness. + Ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of an organization. + Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and slide presentation software. + Experience developing and using analytical models and simulations. + Ability to travel and to work overtime hours as needed. + Ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments. + Ability to work individually or as a team. + Bachelor of Science. + Frequently communicates with clients and coworkers and must be able to share information effectively. + Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills. + Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously. + Self-motivator with ability to work independently. + Plan, direct, and coordinate work activities of others. + Frequently travels by airplane, train or car as necessary to perform work at another location.
