The Illinois Neurological Institute (INI), at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, a major teaching affiliate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, seeks neurohospitalists to perform or supervise the performance of patient care services to include hospital admission orders, history-physical examinations and reports, daily evaluations and rounding, daily progress notes, discharge evaluations, and discharge summaries.
Neurohospitalists will participate in the neurology teaching service rotation, stroke service rotation, call coverage and telehealth services. A dedicated team of stroke neurologists manages higher acuity stroke patients for the majority of rotations.
Schedule will primarily consist of 7 clinical days on / 7 days off the clinical rotation, with 4-6 weeks vacation time based on employment longevity.
The INI provides the neuroscience care, education and research in OSF HealthCare System, a large Midwestern multihospital group and pioneer ACO.
The INI is developing a teaching neurohospitalist service in the 100+ bed INI facility, within OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, a 650 bed tertiary medical center, in Peoria, Illinois. The INI serves as the major teaching service for the University of Illinois College of Medicine medical students, neurology and neurosurgery residents and fellows. Join a team of 3 dedicated stroke neurologists, and 3 dedicated neurohospitalists.
We seek a skilled general neurologist and effective leader, who wishes to manage complex inpatient care with a team of residents and consulting specialty neurologists. The candidate should be board certified/eligible in adult neurology, with experience on a busy neurology service and will have a clinical faculty appointment in the University of Illinois College of Medicine.
